Troubleshooting Checklist

LED Product Troubleshooting Checklist

Before returning your item, please run through the quick checks below — most issues are caused by charging cables, power sources or USB adaptors, and can be resolved in a minute or two.

1. Charging & Power Checks

  • Use a standard Type-C or Micro B charging cable (preferably the one supplied with your product).

  • Avoid universal “fast-charge” cables or low-power USB ports found on laptops, cars, or power banks.

  • Plug directly into a 5V mains USB adaptor for the most reliable charge.

  • Check that the cable is fully inserted — some waterproof housings require a firm push.

  • Look for the charging indicator light (if your product has one). No light usually means a cable/power issue rather than a product fault.

2. Power-On & Mode Issues

  • Hold the power button for 2–3 seconds; a quick tap may not activate the unit.

  • Cycle through the modes and brightness settings to ensure the LEDs respond.

  • If the light cuts out immediately after turning on, the battery may need a full uninterrupted charge (typically 2–3 hours).

3. Battery & Runtime Checks

  • New products may arrive with a transport safety charge (very low but normal).

  • Allow a full charge from empty before first use — topping up from a low charge can sometimes cause irregular performance.

4. Environmental & Usage Factors

  • Very cold weather can temporarily reduce battery performance.

  • Ensure no moisture is trapped inside USB ports (wipe clean before charging).

  • For wearable items, check that the LED strip or battery pack is not twisted or under tension, as this may affect contact points.

5. Cable & Power Source Testing

If the product does not charge:

  1. Try a different Type-C cable

  2. Try a different USB plug adaptor

  3. Try a different wall socket

  4. Avoid charging through computers, cars or portable power banks

In over 80% of cases, the issue is caused by an incompatible or low-power cable/port rather than the LED unit itself.

6. Still Having Trouble?

If you’re still experiencing issues after completing the steps above, please get in touch with our support team.
We may ask for:

  • A short video of the charging attempt

  • The cable and plug you’re using

  • A clip of the product being switched on

This helps us diagnose whether it's a product fault or a charging compatibility issue.

If the item needs to be returned, you’re welcome to send it back using standard postage.
If a manufacturing fault is confirmed, we’ll reimburse the return postage in full.
